Coral Grill and Bar, Viceroy Mayakoba

As part of the Viceroy open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as all-day bar service. Open-air lends a sense of casual with bathing attire/cover up the standard during the day. Evenings shorts and t-shirt is fine. Menu a la Carte and weekly bar-b-que’s and other dining events. Views are spectacular.

The Coral Grill is also the kitchen servicing the pool/beach as well as in-room dining. A special touch the wait staff will ask until you are a regular if anyone in the dining party has food allergies and specific dietary restrictions.

The breakfast menu included a mix of American and Mexican fare from standard eggs and pancakes to an amazing Chilaquiles and a Mexican Breakfast Burrito, much more health conscious versus American versions. Of note the staff was most appreciative providing an iced coffee daily. While the menu offers many juices and smoothies we requested an iced coffee and daily it was provided.

To be honest we did not have lunch at the Coral Grill, as we were full from breakfast. Dinner offers a more upscale menu yet coupled with the casual atmosphere is truly inviting. The menu is diverse and preparation is health oriented i.e. spices, less oil, flavorful, truly representing upscale Mexican cuisine.

The dining client of The Viceroy enjoys the finer dining options. If one desires the all-you-can-eat carb and protein oriented buffet they will be disappointed. Or if desiring comfort foods coupled with the frozen margarita machine, again will be disappointed. However if your tastes are oriented to a finer palette, locally sourced ingredients and a clean preparation your expectations will be exceeded.
